The Famished Lover Reading

The Famished Lover.jpg With The Famished Lover, Ottawa's Alan Cumyn has written an extraordinary novel about the nature of love and longing.

Ramsay Crome is a WW1 veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress, long before the term was coined. Married to the conservative Lillian, he is haunted by the memory of another. An artist who sees and experiences female beauty in a deeply profound way, book explores Crome's search for nourishment - physical, emotional and sexual.

So come and listen in the backroom of The Ironworks Pub.

Jurassic Poop Launch

Local boy makes good writing sh*t ... no, no, I mean well respected science writer turns his hand to children's books with his informative look at coprolites.

We are all proud of our man Jake. So come on down and have so nibbles and sips (sips courtesy of Konzelmann Estate Winery). Jacob Berkowitz threw off the shackles of 9to5 to explore the adventure of self-employment. Along the way he began collecting dino poop and incubated the idea of what became the stunningly informative Jurassic Poop. Published by Kids Can Press this lovely book is available in paper ($7.95) or hardcover ($16.95) editions.
